Sunday, October 11th, 2009

TEXT:

SUMMARY: God absolutely loves us. But he also has “great expectations” of our lives, demands for what he expects of us. What are they? We’ll talk about that today.

APPLICATION: If we see our obligations to God as demands, we’re badly missing the point. If we see our lives as loving response to the love God has given us, then his demands become our joyful opportunities for service.

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

TEXT: Luke 14:16-24

SUMMARY: The great events of our life are almost always preceded by the “list,” that group of people that we want to make sure are able to hear our news and share our joy. APPLICATION: What do we believe about the the unique importance of “being saved,” of claiming Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior because he is, in fact, the only way to God? That should be the catalyst for sharing the gospel.
