6/7/2009 – “I Wonder When He’s Coming”

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

TEXT: Luke 12:35-48

SUMMARY: Jesus makes the point that, even though there are many wonderful things to look forward to the future he is planning, the task of the disciples remains ongoing.

APPLICATION: This day and age has seen a great explosion of information and conjecture about the future, and events such as the Rapture and the Second Coming — almost to the point that we forget the here-and-now. Jesus creates some very vivid imagery to remind us of the need to remain on the job even as we anticipate his celebration of eternity.
