12/24/2008 – “What’s In A Name?”

SUMMARY: An angel gives us a final prophetic word on what to expect from the “fix” for sin that God has been planning for the world.

APPLICATION: This prophecy, given late in the process, nevertheless gives us the ultimate “reason for the season” by telling us very specifically the gift from God himself that is going to fix our lives. It is the greatest gift of all!

TEXT: Isaiah 9:6-7

SUMMARY: Seven hundred years before the event, the prophet Isaiah gives us a remarkable portrait of what the character of the coming Messiah would look like.

APPLICATION: God not only wanted mankind to know that a Messiah was coming, but what he would be like. That portrait is still the picture we have of Christ today, and tells us everything about why we still need him so much.
